Support Survivors.org at Denim Run 2026

This April, Survivors.org will be participating in the Denim Run 2026 fundraiser in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Join us this April as we show up for survivors!

When and Where?

The Denim Run takes place on April 12th 2026 at 8 AM PST. The starting line for the main run/walk will be located on the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, California. Survivors.org will be on site and present at the Wellness Festival taking place on the pier after the run. What if I’m not in L.A.?

You can participate in the Denim Run 2026 from anywhere. Register your team and host your own walk/race in your community or with your friends. This is the perfect way to raise support for survivors in your community this Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Participants who join us from other parts of the globe can also make a direct donation on our page, rather than needing to buy a ticket.

Why Denim?

Denim has been a world-wide symbol against sexual assault since the 90’s. In Italy, 1999, a judge overturned a sexual assault conviction. His reasoning? He claimed that because the survivor was wearing tight denim jeans, she “must” have assisted in their removal. Public outrage at this grave injustice, victim-blaming, and the judge’s clear in ability to understand consent, sparked people to wear denim in solidarity with the survivor.

Now, every April, we observe denim day to let people know that we stand against victim-blaming and alongside survivors.

Create a Team, Make a Statement.

While you do not need to create a team and can register as an individual participant, a team can be a great way to get more people involved in the movement. By creating a team as a business, school, family, or friend group, you make your stance on sexual violence clear. Now more than ever, people are wondering who can put their words into action.
