About Us

After 20 years of supporting survivors and preventing sexual violence, Promoting Awareness | Victim Empowerment (PAVE) launched Survivors.org to make it simple for survivors to find help after experiencing sexual violence.

Survivors.org is not a direct service provider. Rather, Survivors.org is a tool that makes it easier for survivors to take control of their healing and find the resources they need to thrive. We do so by offering three main types of support: survivor resources, holistic healing, and community.

Survivors.org brings together everything a survivor of sexual violence needs to thrive after trauma.

Survivors.org houses over 1,900 verified resources for survivors across the United States and Canada. We understand that every survivor needs something different in their journey, which is why our resources include legal services, mental health services, rape crisis centers, emergency shelters, and more. We know how difficult it can be for survivors to find support, which is why Survivors.org works to reduce the time between deciding to get help and getting started with the resources you need to thrive.

Survivor Resources

There is not one right way to heal. Every survivor needs something different, and many survivors benefit from holistic healing. Our holistic healing page offers information on a variety of different holistic healing methods, such as trauma-informed yoga, sound healing, spirituality, and more. We also offer free resources to teach anyone how to bring holistic healing into their own lives.

Holistic Healing

Being a survivor can often be an isolating experience. But, you are not alone. Survivors.org helps survivors thrive after trauma, together. Our community pages offer resources tailored to survivors with different lived experiences. Survivors.org is creating spaces for people with similar identities and experiences to navigate their healing journeys together.

Community

Promoting Awareness | Victim Empowerment

PAVE is a national nonprofit that works both to prevent sexual assault and heal survivors through social advocacy, prevention education, and survivor support. PAVE was founded in February 2001 by Angela Rose as a student organization at the University of WI-Madison in response to her own experience of being kidnapped from a shopping mall and sexually assaulted at the age of seventeen. It has since grown into a multi-national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

PAVE has trained more than 100,000 college students and 10,000 professionals and maintains chapters and affiliates across the country. PAVE’s work has been featured on many national media outlets including CNN, Today Show, Oprah Winfrey Network and a special edition of 48 Hours on CBS.
