Bystander Intervention

A bystander is anyone who witnesses something happen.

Bystander intervention is the act of stepping in to prevent or stop inappropriate, harmful, or dangerous behavior. If we aren’t prepared, it can be difficult to be an active bystander.

Understanding how to intervene safely and effectively is crucial for creating a safer, more supportive community, shifting cultural norms, and preventing sexual, domestic, and intimate partner violence.
